As of Monday the 26th July 2021, post the president’s announcement that the country is now on Level 3 Lockdown due to COVID, all the entertainment activities at Caister has now resumed (morning and afternoon tea, movie evenings, bingo, music evenings, croquet, fellowship, mass for Catholics and the bar is now opened). As the highly contagious Delta Variant is still a concern, no visitors will be allowed at Caister until further notice. The wearing of masks in all of Caister’s public areas is mandatory at all times.

Service providers in respect hair, nails etc. will still not be allowed on the premises until further notice. Residents requiring these services should make alternative arrangements and go off-site and have same done elsewhere.

The new lifts for the Hotel Block have been delivered to site and the installation thereof will commence shortly. During the installation period only one lift will be operational and residents are asked to please be patient during this period.

Now that the residents and staff have had the second COVID vaccine this week, the Vaccination Record Cards will be available for collection from David Mason in the board room at 10.00 am on Friday the 30th July 2021.

Steps are afoot to establish an account at Sparkspoort Pharmacy for the convenience of all residents. Once confirmed, resident’s medication will be charged to the Caister’s account and recovered from their monthly levy statements.

Residents are reminded to use water sparingly as we still have a long way to go before the summer rains are upon us. Herewith the current levels of the dams that feed the greater Durban area:-

    Albert Falls Dam            52.30%
    Midmar Dam                                 95.60%
    Inanda Dam                    91.80%
    Hazelmere Dam                 42.70%
