In view of the increase in COVID 19 infections and the president’s announcement that the country is now in Level 4 Lockdown, all social activities at the Caister (morning and afternoon tea, movie evenings, bingo, music evenings, croquet, fellowship, mass for Catholics and the bar will be closed) will be put on hold until further notice. Due to the highly contagious Delta Variant, no visitors will be allowed at Caister until further notice.
Service providers in respect hair, nails etc will also not be allowed on the premises until further notice. Residents wanting these services will have to go out and get it done elsewhere.
The new lifts for the Hotel Block have been delivered to site and the installation thereof will commence shortly. During the installation period only one lift will be operational so residents are asked to please be patient during this period.
It is expected that the Mobile Unit of the Department of Health will be at Caister Lodge on the 22nd July 2021to administer the second COVID vaccine to the residents who are eligible thereof. Residents will be advised closer to the time confirming exactly when the Department of Health will be on site.

We are now in the middle of winter and the dam levels are dropping on a regular basis and will only be replenished once the summer rains arrive. Please use water sparingly. Herewith the levels of the dams that feed the greater Durban area:-
